Whole Wheat Honey Cayenne Cornbread

3/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup corn meal
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/4 cup honey
1 cup skim milk
1/4 cup olive oil
2 egg whites


  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  2. Grease an 8 inch square pan
  3. Combine dry ingredients
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry and stir until just incorporated
  5. Transfer batter to the prepared baking pan and bake 20 minutes (edges should be just golden brown and a toothpick to the center of the bread should come out clean.

This bread is sweet to the bite, and burns after the swallow
